LOCAL FOODS

 As soon as we arrived at KuniSaki, we had a chance to look around the local product stores and enjoy the local foods. Many goods were neatly displayed and the prices were low. We tasted local food at the restaurant on the second floor of the souvenir shop.

 We ate hairtail sushi first. The fish was fresh, not fishy. The texture of fish cake was very good, especially the fish cake with real fish was interesting. I thought it could gain much popularity by making such fish cakes with various kinds of fish.

 The most delicious food was a bowl of boiled eel and rice (ウナギ丼) with laver. Teriyaki sauce was very delicious. It was good enough to go to Kunisaki again for that. After eating the meal, we ate dried shrimp and fish(おつまみ). I thought it would be good to have beer with them.

 In particular, the package design using mask was impressive. I thought it would be better to design a package using Kunisaki's mascot (sakichikun).

I have tried a dessert made with Kabos, a specialty of Oita city and a pudding made of sake. It was good because there are many fusion foods that utilize local foods.

 It was my first time eating a kabos, and it felt very similar to a citron. I thought it would be nice to develop a lot of food using kabos. Sake pudding was very soft and sweet. It didn't smell so strong as alcohol that I thought everyone would like it.
